Trinity Broadcasting Network Sued Over Facebook Data-Sharing

Trinity Broadcasting Network—a Christian television channel—was hit with a proposed class action alleging it improperly provides Facebook information about the videos people watch on its streaming service without their permission.

The online streaming service TBN+ was advertised as “the largest library of Christian media” when announced last year. The consumers who sued said that TBN shared with Facebook’s parent company Meta Platforms Inc. the titles of videos they watched on the service, and helped link this information to their social media accounts, according to their complaint filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
