Travel Healthcare Workers Win First Nod for Wage Suit Settlement

Star Nursing Inc. and healthcare workers it sends on short-term travel assignments secured initial approval from a federal judge in California for a $700,000 settlement ending their wage dispute.

The deal returns approximately $447,500 to the staffing firm’s employees, after accounting for attorneys’ fees and court costs, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. Approximately 425 workers are eligible for the Fair Labor Standards Act collective settlement and will receive more than $1,000 on average.
