A woman terminated from her job after coming out as transgender can continue pursuing a discrimination case against her employer, Federal Injury Centers, an Alabama federal court ruled.
Rose Travis adequately stated a claim for relief under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act because she suffered an adverse employment action after disclosing her protected status, the US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama said in a Wednesday opinion rejecting the health care provider’s dismissal motion.
