Transgender Volleyball Player Can Play for College Women’s Team

A transgender woman can continue playing for her university’s women’s volleyball team after a federal judge declined to block her continued participation on Monday.

The San Jose State University student-athlete can continue competing after Judge S. Kato Crews denied an emergency motion for a preliminary injunction that would have removed her from the team, according to an order in the US District Court for the District of Colorado. Crews also denied the plaintiffs’ bid to rescind some of SJSU’s victories as well as a section of its athletic conference’s transgender participation policy.
