Trans Teacher Wins Freeze on Florida Gender Identity Ban (1)

The Florida Department of Education and a Florida county school board likely violated the First Amendment by banning teachers from using their preferred pronouns, a federal trial court ruled.

A teacher challenging the rule is entitled to a preliminary injunction barring its enforcement against her because she is likely to succeed on the merits of her free speech claims, Judge Mark E. Walker of the US District Court for the Northern District of Florida said Tuesday.
