Transgender Professor Who Proved Bias Gets Job Back With Tenure (1)

Southeastern Oklahoma State University must reinstate a transgender professor and grant the tenure she was denied, the Tenth Circuit ruled Monday in a yearslong discrimination case that led to a jury verdict in her favor.

Reinstatement is the strongly preferred remedy for job bias, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit said. A lower court was too quick to dismiss that option and instead award Rachel Tudor front pay to compensate her for the discriminatory loss of her job, the appeals court said.
