Transgender Former Chick-Fil-A Worker Gets Sex Harassment Trial

A Chick-Fil-A franchisee in Georgia will face trial on a transgender employee’s claim that co-workers relentlessly harassed her despite her repeated complaints to the business’s owner.

The US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia said IJE Hospitality LLC disregarded much of the abuse the former director of operations trainee allegedly experienced. In seeking summary judgment on her Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act hostile environment claim, the company focused on its own “unsupported statement” that she is heterosexual, the court said.
