Transgender DC Courts Worker Fails With Bias, Harassment Lawsuit

The District of Columbia defeated claims by a former DC Courts employee that he faced discrimination, harassment, and retaliation after transitioning from female to male.

The ruling Friday by the US District Court for the District of Columbia addressed which individual or entity makes policy for the DC Courts with regard to personnel decisions. As a matter of law, municipal governments aren’t responsible for employment decisions that aren’t made at the policy level and the DC Code seemingly designates the Joint Committee for Judicial Administration as the policy-making body, not the executive officer of the DC Courts, the ruling said. ...
