Transgender youths must respond by Jan. 10 to Idaho’s request that it be allowed to enforce a gender-affirming care ban during an appeal from an order blocking it, a federal judge said on the docket.
Judge B. Lynn Winmill, of the US District Court for the District of Idaho, on Thursday fast-tracked the briefing schedule for the state’s emergency motion to stay a Dec. 26, 2023, injunction pending appeal. Winmill promised to decide the motion “as quickly as possible,” but said he couldn’t guarantee a ruling by the state’s requested Jan. 17 date.
