Trans Minors Fight Georgia’s Call to Roll Back Block on Care Ban

Transgender minors urged a federal judge to maintain an injunction against Georgia’s gender-affirming care ban despite a appeals court decision that allowed a similar Alabama law to take effect.

There are several bases on which Judge Sarah E. Geraghty’s Aug. 20 decision can be preserved, transgender youths and their parents said Wednesday. For example, there’s an outstanding question of whether Georgia’s SB 140 could survive a lower standard of review than the one the judge applied, they said.
