Trader Joe’s Prevails Against Ex-Crew Member’s Age Bias Claims

Trader Joe’s East Inc. escaped a suit Friday brought by an ex-employee claiming she was fired at nearly 78 for being too old after a ruling by a federal appeals court.

Gloria Cocuzzo’s age bias suit was properly rejected because the evidence showed she lost her job for buying her 19-year-old grandson beer while at work at a Brookline, Mass., store, the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit said.
