Toyota Fuel Pump Class Settlement Gets Judge’s Early Approval

Toyota Motor Corp. and drivers of millions of recalled vehicles with allegedly flawed fuel pumps secured a New York federal judge’s early approval for a class settlement that provides loaner vehicles and 15-year warranties on replaced parts.

The deal also includes $28.5 million in fees for the plaintiffs’ attorneys.

Some 33 drivers representing a nationwide class, multi-state classes, and individual state classes alleged their vehicles were equipped with defective low-pressure fuel pumps made by Denso International America Inc. that could cause engines to stall.

Denso is also a party to the settlement.
