Toyota Faces Class Action Over Defective Door Locking System (1)

Toyota Motor Corp. faces a class action from customers saying they face unnecessary dangers because the company has failed to address a defective door locking mechanism in many of its vehicles.

The classes allege that many of Toyota’s vehicle models are equipped with defective door locking actuators, according to their Nov. 15 complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The actuators prematurely cease to operate, leaving the doors unable to be locked with a either remote key fob or interior lock buttons.
