Toyota Cleared of Liability in Smelly Camry A/C Class Trial

Toyota Motor Corp. and affiliated companies aren’t liable to a class of Camry drivers who alleged a flawed air conditioning system emitted moldy air that made their cars smell bad, a federal jury said.

Javier Cardenas alleged the automaker violated Florida consumer protection law by concealing the existence of a design flaw that causes contaminants to become trapped in the cars’ HVAC systems and create an environment for microbial growth.
