Plaintiffs bringing wiretap allegations against TikTok Inc. over data-collection by its in-app browser can proceed with their claims despite a prior $92 million settlement over similar claims, a federal court ruled.
The settlement by its plain language didn’t apply to plaintiffs who were members of the earlier class but were bringing claims arising after the settlement’s effective date, Oct. 13, 2022, Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said Thursday.
