Tiktok Sued for Violating Texas’ Minor Online Protection Law (1)

TikTok Ltd. hasn’t updated its platform to comply with a new Texas digital security law aimed at helping parents regulate their childrens’ online behaviors, the state’s attorney general’s office says in a lawsuit Thursday.

TikTok is violating a law that went into effect Sept. 1 called the SCOPE Act—Securing Children Online Through Parental Empowerment, according to the government’s lawsuit filed in a Texas state court.
