TikTok Accused by Utah of Profiting From Child Sex Trafficking

TikTok Inc. faces a lawsuit from the state of Utah alleging it facilitates and profits from child sex trafficking through a virtual currency system in its live streaming feature.

The social media giant has responded to reports of adult users paying children for sexual acts with “superficial changes it knows does not solve the problem,” Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes (R) said in Monday’s complaint.
