TikTok Exec Advances Retaliation Suit Over Post-Complaint Firing

TikTok Inc. and its parent company ByteDance Inc. must face an employment-discrimination lawsuit filed by a former company executive alleging she was fired in retaliation for complaining about age and sex discrimination at the company.

Katie Ellen Puris sufficiently stated retaliation claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law, Judge Denise Cote of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Thursday.
