TikTok Drops Montana-Ban Challenge After Joint-Venture Formation

TikTok Inc. dropped its lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Montana’s first-in-the-US ban on the service within the state’s borders.

The parties said in a stipulation of dismissal filed Friday in the US District Court for the District of Montana that a proposed divestiture of TikTok from Chinese control was sufficient to trigger a bill provision that would void the ban if the company were acquired by a company not under control of a foreign adversary.
