‘Tiger King’s’ Baskin Denied ‘Media’ Shield for YouTube Post (1)

Carole Baskin, the quirky big cat owner scrutinized in Netflix‘s “Tiger King” series, can’t get an affirmative defamation litigation defense for reporters because her YouTube postings don’t make her a “media defendant,” a Florida appeals court ruled Friday.

Baskin’s various comments at issue were about a former personal assistant, Anne McQueen. Baskin claimed McQueen allegedly stole from her in various posts Baskin made on YouTube while reading out of a journal.
