Ticket Resale Site Hit With Class Action Over Fraudulent Sales

A ticket resale website scams customers into purchasing counterfeit tickets at premium prices, a buyer alleges in a federal class action suit.

The site eventticketscenter.com misleads customers on search engines, including Google, to believe it is a venue’s actual site, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Then, the Florida-based Event Tickets Center, Inc. falsely labels tickets as limited or nearly sold out to prompt customers to pay more, the complaint said.
