TIAA, Nuveen Hit With Disability Bias Lawsuit by Former Director

TIAA Insurance Co. and Nuveen LLC were hit with a lawsuit by a senior managing director who says she was terminated after 22 years of employment due to her disability.

Danielle Cochran Carnett alleges that after she requested to be exempted from the companies’ Covid-19 vaccination requirements as a reasonable accommodation to her disability, they failed to engage in the interactive process and denied her request without explanation, according to a lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
