ThredUp Inc. has reached a settlement with a former area manager who alleged that the consignment company discriminated against his gender when it terminated him.
Frederick Starnes admitted he failed to report a subordinate’s allegation of sexual harassment to human resources, and failed to complete mandatory sexual harassment training. But ThredUp failed to explain why it had allegedly begun interviewing a female candidate before terminating Starnes for that reason, so Judge Karen S. Marston rejected its motion to dismiss in July. The US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania dismissed the case Thursday.
