Third Bard Hernia Mesh Injury Test Case Cleared for Trial

C.R. Bard Inc. and Davol Inc. must face most claims in a Maine man’s suit alleging flawed hernia mesh caused pain and other complications.

Aaron Stinson’s suit is slated to be the third bellwether trial in multidistrict litigation before Judge Edmund A. Sargus Jr. of the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. More than 18,000 cases are pending against the two companies, owned by Becton Dickinson and Co.

In the first trial, a jury found the companies weren’t responsible for a Utah man’s injuries. The second trial resulted in a $255,000 verdict for a Florida couple. ...
