Thermo Fisher Accused of Improperly Paying Terminated Workers

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. failed to pay terminated employees their final wages on their last day of work in violation of the Massachusetts Wage Act, according to a proposed class lawsuit filed Tuesday.

The company has a policy “of failing to pay their Massachusetts employees that they terminate for the full value of their final wages,” according to the complaint filed in the Massachusetts Superior Court, Middlesex County.

The Massachusetts Wage Act holds that employees must be paid their final wages and the cash value of any accrued vacation time in full on the day of their termination.
