A proposed consumer class action alleging Thermador-brand gas stoves emit harmful air pollutants is meritless and “in search of an injury and viable claim for relief,” maker BSH Home Appliances Corp. says.
Lead plaintiffs Robert Hedrick and Nicholas Kalergis alleged the company failed to disclose health risks linked to exposure to harmful emissions from the ovens.
But the plaintiffs—respectively California and Illinois residents—lack standing to sue because they’ve suffered no injury, BSH told the US District Court for the Central District of California.
