The Shade Store was accused in a new proposed class action Thursday of selling motorized window shades with defective motors that frequently failed.
California resident Louis Eisenberg filed a proposed class action in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleging the nationwide window treatment retailer sold shades with what’s now a “legacy motor” that contained an inherent defect.
As a result, the motors failed at high rates, disabling the motorization feature, according to the complaint.
