Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Thursday deposition in a whistleblower case has been canceled after the state’s supreme court granted him an emergency request for temporary relief Tuesday.
Paxton asked the high court to stop the proceeding because his office said it will no longer contest the wrongful termination lawsuit from four former aides in his office.
The high court’s decision is temporary and doesn’t mean Paxton won’t have to sit for a deposition at a later date. The court requested additional briefing by Feb. 29. It will then likely rule on a mandamus petition that Paxton says they should ...
