Texas Supreme Court Justice Jeff Boyd (R), the second longest tenured member of the court, will retire this summer.
Boyd announced on Wednesday he’ll step down near the end of the court’s annual term and won’t seek re-election next year.
“It’s now time to let another take the helm,” Boyd said in a LinkedIn post, in which he thanked Texans for supporting him in two statewide elections.
Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock lauded Boyd as “a model of integrity, impartiality, and diligence.”
