Texas Sues US Masters Swimming After Trans Athlete Nationals Win

US Masters Swimming misled participants by allowing a transgender woman to compete and shatter records in the women’s division, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) said in a lawsuit.

The Florida organization of 70,000 swimmers “swindled countless women and it must be held accountable,” Paxton said in the suit filed Thursday in state court in Denton County, Texas.

The case builds on an investigation Paxton opened into US Masters Swimming in May after a swimmer named Ana Caldas won five individual events at a national meet the month before in San Antonio.
