Texas sued online shopping platform Temu for allegedly employing deceptive business practices and sharing consumers’ data with the Chinese government without their knowledge or consent.
The lawsuit is the fourth filed by the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) since Feb. 18 alleging that China-based companies illegally share consumers’ data with the Chinese government in violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Other defendants include TP Link Systems Inc., Anzu Robotics LLC, and Lorex Corp.
