A Texas pregnancy center helps Chinese women enter the US for the sole purpose of delivering children who are then granted American citizenship, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) said in a new lawsuit in state court Wednesday.
De’Ai Postpartum Care Center near Houston claims it has facilitated the births of more than 1,000 American-born babies over the past nearly 20 years, Paxton said in the suit, which alleges the women are coached to falsely list tourism as their reason for travel in visa applications.
