A coalition of adult entertainment groups say they’ll appeal a recent judgment in Texas upholding a conservative state law banning people under 21 from working in strip clubs and adult book stores.
The groups filed a notice of appeal Tuesday in US District Court for the Western District of Texas. In April, US District Judge Robert Pitman said Texas can keep the law as a way to curb human trafficking in sexually oriented businesses.
Pitman, an Obama appointee, said the law avoids violating the First Amendment because it doesn’t burden substantially more speech than necessary.
