Texas Staffing Agency Wins Appeal Over ER Doctors’ Wage Lawsuit

A Texas healthcare staffing company won an appeal in a wage suit brought by five providers who were sent to an Ellwood, Pa., hospital that was closed due to “serious violations.”

Western Healthcare LLC gave adequate notice that it intended to invoke the contractual delay defense against the emergency room doctors that asked a Dallas district court to make the company pay a combined $130,710 in owed wages for work done in late 2019, the Texas Court of Appeals, Fifth District said, reversing a final judgment for the providers.
