Texas Secures Fifth Circuit Stay to Resume Vote Harvesting Probe

Texas can continue to investigate vote harvesting as a crime for at least another week, a split panel on the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit said Friday.

By a 2-1 vote, the panel granted Texas’s request to stay a trial court’s Sept. 28 order requiring Texas to cease all investigations into the practice of collecting absentee ballots from voters and delivering them to ballot boxes in exchange for compensation.
