Negligence claims against hundreds of wholesale power generators that faltered during Winter Storm Uri in 2021 should be dismissed, a Texas intermediary appeals court directed a lower court Thursday.
Calling arguments from retail customers “simply a bridge too far,” the First Court of Appeals granted mandamus relief, dealing a win to over 200 wholesale power generators who say they had no legal duty to stay online during the freeze.
