Texas is poised to increase pay for state court judges for the first time in over a decade, but its highest ranking judge is pressing lawmakers to go even higher.

Raising concerns about the ever growing divide in pay between lawyers and judges, Supreme Court Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock thanked a Republican senator who previously blocked judicial pay raise for coming around and proposing a 15% base increase.
