William Peterson, a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, will be the next Solicitor General of Texas, replacing Aaron Nielson.
Peterson will take over next month as Nielson transitions to a role as tenured professor at the University of Texas School of Law, Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement Friday.
The announcement comes the same day that the US Supreme Court upheld Texas’ law requiring porn site visitors to verify their age, a case that Nielson argued.
