Prominent Texas attorney Dan Cogdell is being sued by an acupuncturist who says Cogdell’s Houston firm negotiated a $2.3 million settlement without the doctor’s permission to resolve an investigation into false billing.
Cogdell also sent an attorney to conduct depositions despite the attorney not having a license to practice in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, where the federal government pursued the case, the doctor said in the state court petition Wednesday.
Dr. Dongxin Ma filed the suit in Travis County alleging deceptive trade practices, malpractice, conspiracy, and negligence. He’s seeking over $1 million in damages. ...
