Texas Latino Civic Group Accuses Paxton of Retaliation Campaign

A Latino advocacy group sued Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) Tuesday over an alleged “campaign of unconstitutional intimidation” that it said harmed its standing in the state.

Jolt Initiative Inc. filed its lawsuit in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas in an attempt to head off a state-court lawsuit Paxton filed to revoke the group’s corporate charter. Jolt said the attorney general is targeting it for registering people to vote.
