Texas Judge Suspended With Pay Following Family Violence Arrest

Texas felony court judge Frank Aguilar has been suspended with pay following his recent arrest for misdemeanor assault-family violence.

In an order released Thursday, the State Commission on Judicial Conduct said the suspension will continue until the charge is dismissed, Aguilar is acquitted, or the commission decides to lift it.

Aguilar was arrested Dec. 31 in Galveston, Texas. He is accused of hitting a woman in the head and holding his foot to her neck, according to charging documents. He’s been charged with a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail. He is out of jail ...
