Texas Instruments Loses Bid to Sideline Ex-VP in Secrets Suit

A former vice president at Texas Instruments Inc. can continue to work for a competitor while the semiconductor manufacturer moves forward with claims that he and his new employer are misusing its trade secrets, the Texas Business Court ruled Thursday.

Judge Jerry Bullard rejected an early bid from Texas Instruments to pause Kannan Soundarapandian’s employment at GlobalFoundries US Inc. in a one-page order.

The decision comes days after Texas Instruments said in a lawsuit that Soundarapandian can’t work at the California-based company “without drawing on TI’s confidential recipes, roadmaps, targets, and positive and negative know-how.”
