Texas Instruments Hit With Patent Lawsuit by Lock Semiconductor

Lock Semiconductor LLC filed patent infringement allegations against Texas Instruments Inc. over the creation and sale of microcontroller and processor products.

TI was aware of the protected methods detailed in US Patent Nos. 7,952,401, 8,117,400, and 9,355,280 through its competition with the rival companies that were the original patent owners, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

The complaint said the ‘401 and ‘400 patents were first assigned to Freescale Semiconductor Inc., which was later acquired by NXP Semiconductors NV.
