Texas High Court Passes on Worker’s Unemployment Benefits Case

A personal assistant who said she was fired for skipping work to care for her sick father on Christmas day is stuck with a judgment in favor of her former employer and the Texas Workforce Commission after the state Supreme Court denied her petition Friday.

The Texas Court of Appeals, First District, affirmed the trial court’s denial of unemployment benefits for Michelle Green because evidence showed she left her job without good cause.
