A Texas ban on carrying of firearms at locations like sporting events violates the Second Amendment, a new lawsuit says.
Texas Penal Code bans on guns at racetracks, businesses deriving 51% or more of their income from alcohol sales, and sporting events are inconsistent with the nation’s historical tradition as required by precedent, according to the complaint filed Oct. 28 in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Plaintiffs Charles Ziegenfuss, David Montgomery, Brian Robinson, and Firearms Policy Coalition seek declaratory and injunctive relief prohibiting enforcement of the three challenged bans.
