A Texas prosecutor overseeing a Republican effort to remove Austin’s district attorney says he needs more time to determine if he has a proper case.
Requesting a delay in a hearing set for next week, Bell County Attorney James Nichols (R) on Friday told a state trial court he needs additional time to “investigate the matter before deciding whether the state will proceed with this action” against Travis County District Attorney José Garza (D).
