Texas Drops National Guard Vaccine Suit After Appeals Court Win

Texas agreed to drop a lawsuit against the Biden administration over coronavirus vaccine requirements for the state’s National Guard members after the federal government said it wouldn’t enforce the mandate.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) sued after President Joe Biden (D) sought to punish guard members who chose not to get vaccinated as directed under a now-rescinded pandemic requirement. There isn’t an imminent threat that the federal government will enforce the mandate against the state, according to the joint stipulation of dismissal the parties filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
