Texas Doctor Must Face Malpractice Suit Over Patient’s Death

A Texas doctor must face a lawsuit over the death of a patient who was initially misdiagnosed because an expert report submitted in support of the negligence case adequately explained causation, a state appeals court ruled.

Dr. Farook W. Taha argued that one of plaintiff Stephanie Blackburn’s backing reports didn’t properly comply the Texas malpractice law’s requirements because it didn’t include how Taha’s actions were a “substantial factor” in causing the patient’s death.
