Texas DA Won’t Charge GOP Activist Over Trans Bathroom Photo

A Texas prosecutor won’t bring charges against a GOP activist who posted online a photograph of a transgender woman washing her hands in a women’s restroom at the Texas Capitol in 2023.

Travis County District Attorney José Garza (D)'s office said that after speaking with the victim and law enforcement that it doesn’t intend to prosecute the matter.

Garza’s letter was in response to a question from the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on whether a live controversy remains as it decides whether to rehear the activist’s appeal.
