Texas Billionaires Helping GOP Candidates in Appeals Court Races

Three Texas billionaires sent big chunks of money to the Judicial Fairness PAC, a political action committee supporting Republicans trying to snag left-leaning seats in state appeals court elections.

Large donations from wealthy individuals and companies made up most of the $8.3 million the PAC raised from July 1 to Sept. 26, according to a campaign report filed this week. The PAC raised just $1.9 million in the same reporting period in 2022

Robert Rowling of Omni Hotels and Ken Fisher of Fisher Investments each contributed $1 million, while Jeff Hildebrand of Hilcorp Energy gave $250,000.
